Dear Editor:
The senseless murder of 26 innocent children and adults in Newtown, Conn. is a heinous act of terror committed by a mentally deranged person. Gun control is not the answer.
Gun control can never solve the problem; it will only take guns away from law-abiding citizens. Identifying, treating, and/or incarcerating people who are a danger to society is the answer.
We, the people of the United States of America, have the right to keep and bear arms. The reason we have this right is to protect ourselves from the government. All other uses (hunting, competitive marksmanship, collecting, etc.) are just a by-product of this right.
Now is the time to fight (politically) for our gun rights. If we lose this fight, we may have to fight for the rest of our rights with pitchforks.
I am ready to fight for my gun rights, are you?
