Wrigley honored for eight years of service

Although county commissioners approved the idea 2 1⁄2 months ago, Cole County’s $100,000 support for passenger airline service at Columbia Regional Airport now is official.
Commissioners voted 2-0 Monday to approve the legal paperwork committing the county government to provide money for a “Central Missouri Air Service Fund” that guarantees that an airline will make a minimum profit for providing passenger service to the airport near Ashland.
Eastern District Commissioner Jeff Hoelscher abstained in Monday’s vote, after voting against the Oct. 3 decision to pledge the money.
