When Ryan’s Steakhouse closed earlier this year, it left a mega-buffet void in Jefferson City.

Thankfully, Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet stepped up to the dinner plate, bringing us a 300-item, mostly Chinese-style buffet in its place. At the restaurant’s Thursday opening, business was steady.

Ivin Weng owns this and two other Hibachi Grills, one in Omaha, Neb., and one in Lawrence, Kan. The approximate $1 million local investment includes a transformation to the inside of the building.
