Chick-fil-A coming to Jefferson City

Chick-fil-A is heading to Jefferson City, with construction tentatively scheduled for late next summer.

At the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting Thursday, a replat request was approved for the property owned by Lowe’s Home Centers, which will transfer 1.17 acres for the development of a Chick-fil-A at its property on Missouri Boulevard, near Wildwood Drive.

Gary Rouse with GBC Design, of Akron, Ohio, said the restaurant will be housed in a 4,900-square-foot building with 50 parking spaces and a double drive-thru.

Not impressed much with the food at Chick-fil-A. Would sure rather see an Olive Garden here. I know they are not quite the same level of restaurant, but I'd be more likely to go to OG - even for lunch.

Great! Now I don't have to drive to Wentzville every couple of weeks to get my Chick-Fil-a fix!

Oh good grief! Jeff City doesn't need another cruddy fast food joint. I agree with warped, an Olive Garden would be great here and would get a ton of business. OG aside, I'd much rather see more locally owned restaurants open up than get yet another link in a chain.

OUTSTANDING!! It's about time and like Bucky said, I won't have to go to St. Louis or Springfield!

I LOVE Chick-Fil-A and their service is BEYOND REPROACH and it's NOT a "cruddy ast food joint"!

What's the real reason Tickled?

We may not need it, but it's another "CHOICE"!

I knew it wouldn't take long for this to pop up ...

The real reason? I've eaten there - I personally find the food to be cr#p. I don't need a political reason to dislike bad food. I don't need a hidden agenda to prefer locally owned establishments. Beyond reproach? Please. How 'bout you enjoy your choice without yelling at me for mine. Typical ...

Funny how these chain restaurants open in this town all nice and clean, and then they quickly deteriorate into a place I would not let a rat eat in.

If they would just clean their facilities and take care of stuff, maybe they wouldn't go out of business so fast.

Good or Bad? Guess we will see. I am just glad to have something in JC that Columbia doesn't already have.

When it opens, hope folks don't line up for weeks like they did at Arby's.

I'll be in the front of the line with my gay lover spoonin and cooin for the . . . oh wait, I don't have a gay lover. Could we encourage a gay couple or twenty to attend the opening and see what havoc can be wrought? Pehaps a faux wedding . . .

CRACKERS is a racist term for white people and it is no different than the n word unless you are in florida then it refers to police. Still JCLifer its funny but not appropriate.

Oh come on! Lifer's remark is funny! I'm in no way offended by something as silly as being called a cracker. It's merely the blacks having to find something to say that might pizz off a white person. Doesn't bother me at all. If black people would get over the n word and see it as a reason to try to put them down by the white racists, using the n word would stop. No response equals no fun for the name callers. A good belly laugh would work too.

I agree with you, Eileen. Call me a cracker all day if you want. Doesn't bother me one bit. If anything, it says more about the person calling me a cracker than it does me. If folks would get over the "n" word, it would be the same.

I laugh just thinking about being called a cracker!
