Commitee ponders higher ed formula

With a year to go before they must submit a final proposal, state Sen. David Pearce thinks lawmakers are making good progress toward developing a funding formula for state aid to Missouri’s public colleges and universities.

Pearce, R-Warrensburg, chairs the Legislature’s Joint Committee on Education.

After meeting at the Capitol for an hour Monday afternoon, committee members were asked to comment by the end of the year on a proposed model for that new formula.
