Lincoln women, men pick up track and field victories

AMES, Iowa — The Lincoln women’s indoor track and field team won four events at the Holiday Preview on Friday.

The meet, the last of the 2012 calendar year for the Blue Tigers, was hosted by NCAA Division I school Iowa State University and featured athletes from all levels of NCAA and junior-college competition.

On Thursday, the Blue Tigers traveled to Lawrence, Kan., for the Bob Timmons Challenge, with the Blue Tigers winning five events.

The season-opening meet was hosted by the University of Kansas and featured athletes from all levels of competition, including Division I schools Kansas, Missouri-Kansas City and Oral Roberts.

The Lincoln men’s track and field team also competed in both the Holiday Preview and the Timmons Challenge.
