Their weekend might have ended with a hard-fought loss to Waynesville in the third-place match of the Missouri Duals, but it couldn't take the luster off a good performance for the Jefferson City Jays.
After finishing fifth last year, the Jays finished second in the Gold Division with a 5-1 record and placed fourth in the event at Helias after dropping a 39-24 decision to the Tigers.
"We went 5-2 in duals, so that's a little bit better than we did last year," Jefferson City coach Phil Cagle said. "Last year we finished fifth, this year we finished fourth, so these kids have had a great weekend."
