Three arrested during Boone County meth lab bust

Three people were arrested and four children were turned over to a child services agency Friday morning after Boone County authorities raided a methampehetamine lab near Sturgeon.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department reports its deputies executed a search warrant around 8 a.m. at 22720 N. Route V, where they also discovered stolen property and evidence of possible animal abuse.

Two residents - Forrest "Daniel" Lyons, 29, and his mother, Joyce Y. Lyons, 59 - were being held in the Boone County Jail on suspicion of drug and child endangerment charges. A third person, Shane L. Skaggs, 33, of Higbee was held without bond on drug charges and as a parole violator. Daniel Lyons' bond is set at $27,000 and Joyce Lyons' bond is set at $22,500.

A stolen motorcycle was recovered along with other possible stolen property. Boone County Animal Control officers investigated evidence of possible abuse to numerous dogs, horses, chickens and rabbits.
