It was an early-season game that should make both teams better in the long run.
"Don't look at the score, this one was tight the whole way," Helias coach Doug Light said Thursday night after the Lady Crusaders topped the Fatima Lady Comets 47-33 at Rackers Fieldhouse.
One thing the final score does indicate is what a defensive battle it was.
"We are where we want to be defensively," Fatima head coach Dustin Hays said. "Offensively, we're out of sync. We're passing up good looks and our confidence is down."
The Lady Comets started one freshman and three sophomores Thursday night and that may have a lot to do with Fatima's struggles on the offensive end.
"They just need to get comfortable and that comes with time," Hays said.
