New name, same great tournament.
The Jefferson City Jays and Helias Crusaders will take part in the Machens Great 8 Tournament that runs Dec. 27-29 at Fleming Fieldhouse. The eight-team event includes four out-of-state teams.
"It's a good tournament for our city and anyone who loves basketball," Helias coach Josh Buffington said at a press conference for the event Wednesday. "This is definitely a premier event. They have so many great players and great coaches from top to bottom."
