Lincoln women win, men lose in basketball

LEBANON, Ill — A big first half led the Lincoln women’s basketball team to a solid non-conference victory Saturday afternoon.

Freddie Sims poured in 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting and Dahlia Booker added 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting as the Blue Tigers topped McKendree 69-60.

Lincoln (4-2) begins Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association on Wednesday at Nebraska-Kearney.

Despite a stellar performance from Cedric Ridle Jr., the Lincoln men’s basketball team dropped an 81-71 decision to Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday afternoon.

Lincoln (1-7) begins conference play Wednesday at Nebraska-Kearney.
