Jefferson City police investigate shots fired

Police are investigating a report of gunshots being fired at a car early Saturday in an area of central Jefferson City.

Officers were called to the parking lot in front of the Family Dollar store at 712 Monroe Street shortly before 1:30 a.m. Witnesses reported two men dressed in all black fired two rounds of shots at a vehicle there but didn't hit anything.

The suspects were last seen southbound on Monroe Street, where the victim lost sight of them in the 800 block.

Enough already...let's start kickin in some door's. I'm sure some of the neighbor's know the scoop. If so, I say give the info to the Cop's so they can get these people off the stree's before somebody "INNOCENT" get's killed.

I agree. These people are nothing more than vermin . I wish they would go ahead and kill each other, but none of them know how to aim . If it was an initiation to get into a gang or something, I would shoot them in the foot if I was the leader and they came back saying they shot "AT" someone numerous times but didn't hit "ANYTHING" . These thugs are wannabe's and will soon run across the wrong people that DO know how to aim . One shot. One kill. Dead wannabes .

Why doesn't JCPD concentrate their efforts on making this town very unfriendly to the gangster thug wanna-be's? Pull 'em over, Do fire code inspections. Harass them to mow their yards. Sit a cop car out in front of their house all day and night. I am sure if they are creative they could find all kinds of ways to encourage the thugs to leave town.

Something needs to be done about all the gunfire before innocent people get killed by the stray bullets.
