The Jefferson City volleyball team was a step behind the Hermann Lady Bearcats at the start Thursday night, and it ended up costing them at the finish line.

Hermann came out playing with a high energy level from the first point of the match at Fleming Fieldhouse, and while Jefferson City eventually matched it, the damage was done.

The Lady Bearcats raced out to a 25-11 win in the first game, took an early lead in the second and then withstood a furious rally by the Lady Jays to win the second game 25-20.
