FTC: "Your Baby Can Read' ads deceptive

WASHINGTON (AP) - The man behind the "Your Baby Can Read" program - videos claiming to teach infants to read - is in trouble with the Federal Trade Commission.

The "Your Baby Can Read" program used a combination of videos, flash cards and pop-up books and was advertised extensively on television, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

The company that sold Titzer's program, Your Baby Can, and its president until March 2010, have agreed to settle the FTC charges.

The settlement imposes a $185 million judgment, most of which would be suspended due to the company's failing financial condition.
