Ribbon cutting set today for Broadway project

Jefferson City officials will hold a ribbon cutting today to celebrate the completion of the Broadway Street neighborhood improvement project.
According to a release from the city, the project, which began in May, included new sidewalks, curbs and gutters on both sides of Broadway Street, and connect with recent improvements at the Whitton Expressway made by the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Neighborhood improvement projects are done through a cost share with affected property owners. For the Broadway project, property owners contributed $15,871, while the city covered $104,004. The total cost was $119,875.
The ribbon cutting will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Schaeffer house, 618 Broadway St.
