Man sought in connection with Cole Co. break-in

Cole County authorities are looking for an individual in connection with a home break-in that occurred Friday morning.

According to the Cole County Sheriff's Department, Chad Hill, 26, is believed to have broken into a home in the 2200 block of Saddlebrooke Lake Road, around 10 a.m.

The resident was home at the time when Hill and another individual forced their way inside.

The resident confronted the subjects, and the two left in a white SUV.

Deputies and troopers with the Missouri Highway Patrol responded to the area and were able to locate the vehicle on South Drive off South Country Club Drive.

An off-duty Missouri Highway Patrol trooper who lives in the area also saw the vehicle and positively identified it as being the suspect vehicle. It was seized for evidence.

Deputies took a photo lineup to the victim of the break-in, and he positively identified the owner of the vehicle, Hill, as one of the suspects.

The Jefferson City Area Crimestoppers has offered a $250 reward for information that could lead to Hill's arrest.
