Jays look to gain momentum vs. Stars

Jefferson City became known for its fast starts to games last year. Now the Jays want to add fast defensive starts as well.

The Jays have a goal this season for each game of scoring on the opening drive of each half, while keeping the opposition off the board in the same fashion.

That first chance comes tonight as the Jays open the season against McCluer North at 7 p.m. at Adkins Stadium.

"If you can do that, we developed the momentum of the game," Jefferson City head coach Ted LePage said. "Every time we did that last year, we had really good success."
