City looks to implement abandoned buildings program

Jefferson City is moving forward with plans for an abandoned building registry, hoping to begin the process next month.
Janice McMillan, planning and protective services director, said 91 abandoned buildings have been identified by city staff, largely within the city’s Old Town neighborhood, though McMillan said there likely are many more that have yet to be identified.
