MoDOT will begin a project to realign and resurface Missouri 133 in Osage County on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Officials said the work will improve safety by reducing the grade of a steep hill on the south side of Meta.
The realignment begins approximately a half mile south of Route B at Meta and continues south for about a half mile.
The realignment will require closing the roadway and detouring traffic through the length of the project, which is scheduled for completion by mid-November.
Missouri 133 will also be resurfaced from Route B to Missouri 52 as part of a separate project that will take place at the same time.
Phillips Grading and Construction, Inc. of Boonville, Mo., was awarded the $1 million contract for the work.
