WARDSVILLE, Mo. — If Friday night was any indication, the Tipton Cardinals can play football with the big boys.

Tipton, a Class 1 school, held its own against three bigger schools in a Jamboree at the Falcon Athletic Complex, combining for a combined 18-18 score against Kirksville (Class 4), Fulton (Class 3) and Blair Oaks (Class 2).

“We knew out of those three games we weren’t going to have any easy route,” Tipton coach Tony Braby said. “We had our hands full with the bigger-sized schools. Overall, I was pleased. Defense graded out about a B and offense probably a C-minus.”
