California man gets five years probation

Cole County Judge Dan Green recently placed a California, Mo., man on five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to felony stealing from Walmart on West Stadium Boulevard in Jefferson City.

Mark Evers, 27, was charged for either not paying for merchandise or using altered bar codes to purchase items at a much lower price than advertised.
