Area high school football teams will get one step closer to playing for real when their final preseason tuneup comes tonight with several Jamborees.

The Jefferson City Jays and Helias Crusaders will take to the road for their action.

The Jays will take to the field at 6:30 p.m. at William Jewell in Liberty against Hickman, Liberty and Liberty North. The Crusaders will play at 6 p.m. in St. Clair against, in order, Rolla, St. Clair and Rock Bridge.

The Blair Oaks Falcons will be hosting a multiple-team event at the Falcon Athletic Complex, although the event did get smaller when Fayette announced Thursday it wouldn't be attending.

The event will now have Blair Oaks, Tipton and Kirksville sharing the field for sessions at 6, 6:30 and 7 p.m., before turning the field over to California, Fulton, Moberly and Owensville for sessions at 7:30, 8 and 8:30 p.m.
