Suspicious activity nets $5,000 of meth in Cole Co. bust

On Wednesday at approximately 1 p.m., Cole County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to 5417 Collier Lane in reference to suspicious activity of narcotics use.

Upon arrival, deputies saw people standing outside the apartment.

Deputies saw one of the subjects toss what they believed to be drugs on the ground and a foot pursuit ensued.

More Cole County units responded to the area as well as the Missouri Highway Patrol to assist.

Two subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Cole County Jail.

The drugs were later identified as 48 grams of Methamphetamine, valued at approximately $5,000 dollars, and several miscellaneous pills.

Charges were submitted to the Cole County Prosecutors Office on both subjects; one for Trafficking 1st Degree and Felony Resisting Arrest, and the other for Felony Resisting Arrest.

The first subject has a no bond warrant while the second has a $5,000 dollar warrant.

Names will not be released until charges are filed.
