Callaway cities, groups consider animal solutions
Thursday, August 16, 2012
Stray and abandoned animals are running rampant throughout Callaway County, and one Fulton councilman has proposed an arrangement to help alleviate some of the problem while bringing in the city more money.
Once the new animal shelter is built, Councilman Steve Moore suggests Fulton charge a monthly or annual fee to lease space to other area cities and agencies, allowing them to bring some of their stray animals here.
He notes the plan is tentative and hasn’t been formally presented to the council.
