The idea is to get a little better each day.
From Friday to Tuesday, the Helias Crusaders got a little better.
“Our kids are really starting to hone in on the idea that the start of the season is just around the corner,” Helias coach Phil Pitts said after the Crusaders went through a controlled scrimmage Tuesday night at Helias Field. “We had a different kind of focus and a different kind of intensity.”
Last Friday, the Crusaders held their first full scrimmage with the team divided as evenly as possible. It was an up-and-down affair, with good plays mixed in with 11 penalties and a handful of dropped passes.
The dropped passes were cut in half Tuesday. And the penalties dropped to just three.
