The plan was to make Helias’ football scrimmage as fair as possible to both teams. It worked.
“We wanted to make it as even as possible,” Helias coach Phil Pitts said after the two-hour scrimmage ended in a tie at 21 between the Blue and White teams Friday at Helias Field. “We have a lot of people who can do a lot of different things and it gave us a chance to see a lot of combinations.”
One of the highlights of the scrimmage was the success of the running game. The running back trio of Michael Tannehill, Justus Schulte and Dustin Tomblinson all had their moments to shine Friday.
