The eastern intersection of Monticello Road and U.S. 54, located near the Cole County Public Works Department, will reopen to traffic at noon on Thursday.
Monticello Road connects to 54 in two locations.
The eastern intersection has been closed since July 23 as part of the intersection improvements being made on 54 west of Jefferson City.
As a result of these improvements, motorists will only be allowed to turn right into and right out of the Monticello east intersection, which is located across from Goller Road.
However, all traffic movements are allowed at the Monticello west intersection, which MoDOT officials said will provide better sight distance for motorists wanting to turn left onto 54 heading into Jefferson City.
Vehicles traveling from Monticello to Jefferson City or from the Lake of the Ozarks to Monticello must use the Monticello west intersection.
In addition, acceleration and deceleration lanes have been constructed to improve access to the Monticello west intersection.
