Cole County turnout lower than estimate

When all the ballots were counted, nearly 30 percent of Cole County’s 39,340 registered voters cast ballots in Tuesday’s primary elections.
The 29.43 percent was much lower than County Clerk Marvin Register’s prediction last week of “about 42 percent,” which he said was based on a 38 percent turnout in the August 2010 primary election.
