There will be a new face on the Cole County Commission after the November general election.

Kris Scheperle defeated incumbent Chris Wrigley, with Kevin J. Kelly coming in third, in Tuesday’s Republican primary for the Western District commissioner’s seat.

Scheperle had 3,646 votes, Wrigley had 1,793 votes, and Kelly had 788 votes.

“I wish him the best of luck,” Wrigley said. “He ran a clean campaign, and I appreciated that. I wish him the best in November.”
