COLUMBIA, Mo. - Kendial Lawrence has a golden opportunity in front of him - a chance to be No. 1 again.
The 5-foot-9 Missouri tailback entered 2011 at the top of the depth chart. Then he was held to 10 yards rushing in the opening game against Miami (Ohio) and suffered a cracked fibula in practice before the second game of the season, putting him out of commission for three games. By the time he got back, Henry Josey was on his way to a monster year.
Again entering the season at No. 1 after Josey shredded his knee in November against Texas, Lawrence is looking for big things in 2012.
"It's a really big opportunity," Lawrence said. "I'm just ready to accept the spot and do what I can to help the team."
