Nomination deadline extended for March of Dimes nurses award

The Missouri Chapter of March of Dimes will honor 20 nurses who show an extraordinary level of patient care, compassion and customer service.

The deadline to nominate nurses has been extended to Aug. 15. The awards will be given at a gala in November.

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of all babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality, and nurses play a critical role in that mission, officials said.

The Nurse of the Year initiative recognizes exceptional nurses throughout the state, celebrates the profession, and creates awareness of the strides made in nursing.
