Forecasts mixed on voter turnout Tuesday
Saturday, August 4, 2012
Based on the issues on Tuesday’s ballot and voters’ 38 percent turnout four years ago, Cole County Clerk Marvin Register said Friday he thinks “about 42 percent” of the county’s voters will cast ballots in Tuesday’s primary elections.
That’s higher than the 25 percent turnout Secretary of State Robin Carnahan’s office projects for the overall, statewide election.
Local tax issues occupy the ballots in Jefferson City and Cole County.
