Actor recognized for support of combat wounded veterans

Driven by a sense of honor and respect for our nation’s heroes, actor and musician Gary Sinise gives of his time and talents to raise money in support of combat-injured service members.

In recognition of his volunteer spirit, Sinise was presented with the 2012 Silver Star Families of America (SSFOA) Commendation Award in a ceremony held backstage last Saturday at the Lt. Dan Band concert.

A non-profit based out of Clever, Mo., the SSFOA’s primary mission is to recognize and support veterans who are wounded, injured or have acquired an illness related to their service in a combat zone-regardless of service branch or military conflict.
