Preliminary designs for a new Fire Station No. 3 will be moved forward to the Jefferson City Council, along with a request for an amendment to the architectural contract.

At the Public Safety Committee meeting Thursday, City Engineer Matt Morasch presented designs and a floor plan for the new Fire Station No. 3, which would be located on Missouri 179, north of Industrial Drive. The facility would replace the existing Fire Station No. 3 on Industrial Drive.

The project is estimated to cost $2.65 million, with $1.6 million coming from the half-cent capital improvements sales tax and $227,000 coming from the sale of a portion of the property to Missouri American Water for a water tower.
