The first day for track and field competition at the Summer Olympics is the day for Christian Cantwell.
Cantwell, the former Eldon Mustang and Missouri Tiger, will compete in the men's shot put today in London. It is just one of two finals on the opening day for track.
It is the second Olympics for Cantwell. In 2008, he rallied from fifth to take the silver medal with his final throw of the competition. The 31-year-old advanced to the Olympics after finishing third behind Reese Hoffa and Ryan Whiting at the Olympic Trials earlier this year.
