Cantwell finishes fourth in shot put

Christian Cantwell finished fourth Friday in the men’s shot put at the Summer Olympics in London.
Cantwell, a former Eldon Mustang and Missouri Tiger, finished with a best throw of 21.19 meters (69 feet, 6 1/4 inches). That came on the last throw of the competition for Cantwell, who earned the silver medal at the 2008 Olympics.
Tomasz Majewski of Poland won the gold medal at 21.89 meters (71 feet, 10 inches). David Storl of Germany took the silver at 21.86 (71-8 3/4), while Reese Hoffa of the United States was third at 21.23 (69-8).
