Ameren seeks coal ash landfill in Jefferson County

FESTUS, Mo. (AP) — The St. Louis-based utility company Ameren Missouri is seeking to place a coal ash landfill at its Rush Island power plant in Jefferson County.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold a public meeting Tuesday at Festus City Hall to discuss the permitting process. Ameren has obtained preliminary approval for a geological investigation for a landfill at the plant.

Ameren is already seeking a coal ash landfill next to its Labadie plant in nearby Franklin County, though some residents of that area opposed to building it in the Missouri River floodway.

What else can we help Ameren do? Do they want us to come to work for free for them?

No, they just want us to sign over our paychecks directly to them since they already get a big chunk of it & want more with their proposed rate hikes!!!
