Police seek third "person of interest' in murder

20-year-old man sought for questioning

One day after grand jury indictments against two men were announced, Jefferson City police said Friday they're looking for a third man for "questioning of his involvement in the (April 22) murder" of Keith Mosely, 34, Columbia, at a Buena Vista Street apartment.

Police identified the third suspect as Khiry D. Summers, 20.

He has lived on Elizabeth Street in Jefferson City and at 1606 N. Brooks St. in Cole County. But, police said in a Friday morning news release, Summers also may be out of the area, perhaps in Illinois.

He's described as being a black male, 6 feet tall and weighing about 155 pounds.

Police provided a mug shot showing long hair, but reported Friday that Summers may have cut his hair short.

"Summers should be considered potentially dangerous," police said in the news release.

Cole County grand jurors this week indicted Brandon Chase, 28, 1122 E. Elm St., and Tracy Session, 25, 623 Locust St., with second-degree murder with last Sunday's death of Mosely at a Buena Vista Street apartment.

Chase and Session were being held in the Cole County Jail with bond set at $500,000 each.

Officials think Mosely was killed during an attempted robbery, and attempted distribution of a controlled substance.

Anyone with any information about the crime or possible suspects is asked to contact Detectives at the Jefferson City Police Department, or to contact CrimeStoppers at 659-TIPS (8477).
