Columbia's Dooley named Baker men's basketball coach

BALDWIN CITY, Mo. (AP) - Sean Dooley has been named head men's basketball coach at Baker University, bringing with him a record of four straight seasons of 25-plus wins at Missouri's Columbia College, where he served as an assistant.

Baker AD Theresa Yetmar announced the appointment Friday. Dooley succeeds Brett Ballard, who resigned last month to become an assistant at Tulsa.

Baker and Columbia both play in Division I of the NAIA, where Columbia has gained powerhouse status. The Missouri school made four straight trips to the NAIA National Tournament, with one finish as national runner-up.

Dooley has also been an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at William Jewell in Liberty, Mo., and the promotions coordinator in the athletic department at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
