Lincoln baseball splits

It was a day full of rallies in the baseball doubleheader between the Lincoln Blue Tigers and Emporia State Hornets at Lincoln Field.

The Hornets came back from a 5-0 deficit in the opener, including forcing extra innings with a run in the top of the seventh before winning 7-5 in nine innings.

It was the Blue Tigers' turn in the nightcap, as they scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh and final inning to emerge with a 5-4 victory.

The Blue Tigers are now 5-34 overall and 5-26 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, while the Hornets are 24-16 and 19-13.

Lincoln returns to action Tuesday when it plays its final non-conference game of the season at Missouri S&T.
