Your Opinion: Faithful cartoons

Dear Editor:

These words of defense for Jim Dyke went through my thoughts in the middle of the night. So I send them to you. I wonder how many nights he lies awake composing cartoons for us.

I find Jim to be a good Christian man, who always upholds God, the Constitution, and our country and it’s freedoms in his cartoons. He also has the courage to speak out in these times of much adversity.

The Risen Christ portrayed with the gas tank had a clever connection I thought. All Christians do not have the same education or depths of faith. Perhaps this cartoon touched some souls who had never heard that Christ rose from the dead on Easter Sunday. If we all pray, Jesus could bring the gas price down to a decent level.

God is not being taken out of Jim Dyke’s cartoons.
