The Helias girls soccer team is quickly developing a killer instinct. If you don’t believe it, just ask the two teams they played Saturday in the Capital City Invitational.
The Lady Crusaders closed out the event in commanding fashion, ripping the Springfield Catholic Lady Irish 4-0 before dismantling the Moberly Lady Spartans 6-0.
That would be the Lady Irish who are the two-time defending state champions in Class 1 and are ranked No. 2 this season, and the Lady Spartans who are ranked No. 8 in Class 2.
Helias coach Chuck Register said the Lady Crusaders, who are now in the midst of a 10-game unbeaten streak, have shown they know when to flip the switch.
