As the seconds wound down in the second overtime, Matt Stacey was satisfied.
The Jefferson City Lady Jays had survived a furious Westminster Christian Academy attack over the second half and two 10-minute extra periods and it looked like Friday's opener in the Capital City Invitational was going to end in a tie at 1.
"I just wanted to get the tie at that point," Stacey, the head coach of the Lady Jays, said. "They were doing a great job of taking it at us offensively."
Final score: Jefferson City 2, Westminster Christian 1 (Double OT)
