More abortion restrictions endorsed by Mo. House
Tuesday, April 17, 2012
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Women seeking prescriptions for abortion-inducing drugs could face greater requirements than those wanting surgical abortions under a bill endorsed by the Missouri House.
Missouri law already requires a woman to have a consultation with a doctor or qualified professional 24 hours before undergoing an abortion.
The bill given initial approval Tuesday would require a woman to receive a physical examination by a doctor 24 hours before the doctor prescribes the abortion-inducing drug RU-486.
Supporters said the bill should ensure the safety of women receiving abortion drugs. Opponents said the legislation amounts to more government intrusion in an area where Missouri already has a lot of laws.
Representatives endorsed the bill on a 116-34 vote. A second vote is needed to send it to the Senate.

I think the MO legislature should obtain their medical license before legislating any more abortion laws. They are clearly unqualified to be making decisions about healthcare. I'm sick and tired of fat, old, rich white men controlling the lives of women. Patriarchy is overrated. Don't those people have a budget to work on over there??? Or are they saving that for the last minute.

You are wrong, again. Early term abortion kills a fetus. A fetus is not a human being. It can be, but so can every egg and sperm we produce.

It's overdue to clean house, both houses. State & Federal!

That's why campaign finance and ethics laws need to be strengthened to the same level that these fools want to control abortion, videotaping agriculture, and guns. When politics are no longer for sale to the highest bidder the bs will stop.

Will RU-486 harm a woman taking it after a certian number of weeks of gestation? If so, you'd think an ethical doctor would do an exam anyway.
I'm not debating abortion here...just the necessity of the bill.

RU-486 kills a fetus, not a child, killing a child would be murder.
