Possible sales tax to be delayed

A proposal from the Jefferson City Fire Department to put a potential switch from a property tax to a sales tax on the August ballot is now being altered, and the proposed ordinance is expected to die Monday.

β€œIt was a Fire Department decision,” 1st Ward Councilman Mike Harvey said. β€œI think they are wanting to tweak the bill a little bit and maybe change the date of the election.”

Wow didn't have that many amendments to the Transformation Tax. Looks like the council wants this dead. Do I smell Transformation Tax the sequel coming around?
