Electronic filing of court cases is on the horizon for the Boone-Callaway 13th Judicial Circuit Court.
Callaway County Circuit Clerk Judy Groner said long-term savings from reduced costs are expected to offset short-term higher expenses.
"Missouri's entire court system is moving toward having all filing of cases to be done electronically," she said.
The Missouri Supreme Court and the 11th Judicial Circuit in St. Charles County are pilot projects of the Missouri Electronic Filing System. All lawsuits in federal courts are now filed and accessed electronically.
"The Supreme Court and the circuit court in St. Charles County are now accepting e-filing of lawsuits," Groner said.
