Panera Bread names Thomas Kelly interim CFO

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Panera Bread Co. said Tuesday it has appointed Thomas P. Kelly as interim chief financial officer while it continues searching for a permanent CFO.

The opening was created when Jeff Kip left the bakery-cafe chain recently to take the same position at IAC/InterActiveCorp. He spent six years in the post with Panera.

Panera said Kelly has more than 10 years of experience as CFO or CEO with companies in various industries. It said the search for a permanent CFO is expected to take four to six months.

Panera shares rose $2.32, or 1.5 percent, to $159.88 in extended-hours trading after falling $3.16, or 2 percent, to $157.56 during the regular session.
