The Jefferson City Lady Jays may be down. But with more than a month left in the regular season, they're not out.
"We're staying optimistic," Jefferson City coach Matt Stacey said after Tuesday night's 3-1 loss to the Rock Bridge Bruins at 179 Soccer Park. "I think good things can still happen."
But for those things to happen, the Lady Jays have some work to do on the defensive end, as the Bruins scored on their first three shots on goal.
"We gave up too many soft goals," Stacey said.
