The Holts Summit Board of Aldermen has approved a low bid of $220,000 to construct a sidewalk and culverts from the North Elementary School along South Summit Drive to Simon Boulevard.
City Administrator Brian Crane said the four-foot sidewalk also would include installation of curbing along with a culvert most of the way.
The project was financed by a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
The low bidder on the project was the Sam Gaines Construction Co. of New Bloomfield.
Crane said a $50,000 crosswalk and speed detection sign will also be installed with another grant the city will receive later.
