SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Jefferson City Jays and Lady Jays participated in meets this week.
On Thursday, the Jays won two events in the Hillcrest Invitational. Joey Burkett cleared 15-6, a meet record, to win the pole vault. The other win came from the 4x200-meter relay team of Joel Ridenhour, A.J. Miller, Thomas LePage and Elijah Sherwood (1:31.14).
On Wednesday, the Lady Jays totaled nine event victories in the Glendale Ladies Night Out. Kezia Martin was a double winner for the Lady Jays, taking first in the 100-meter hurdles (16.29) and triple jump (37-5). The Lady Jays captured five relays titles - the 4x100-, 4x200-, 4x400- and 4x800-meter as well as the throwers competition.
